The image of MFM as a socially responsible church is by no means a PR hype; rather, it is a culmination of hard work and consistency in trying to make a society a better place by significant contributions to the development of its host communities.
The church is linked to various community development projects including donation of police patrol vans, grading and tarring of roads, and drilling of numerous boreholes, known as “Jesus Wells” in host communities where MFM branches and regions are sited in different parts of the country.
Other direct philanthropic gestures involve the donation of money to individuals and communities and social causes. Sponsorship and funding of important projects and provision of food, clothes and other important needs of poor members of the society are also in its philanthropy portfolio.
One of its flagship interventions, Care Evangelism Initiative is a vehicle through which the Evangelism Group and We Care Ministry of the church collaborate to cater for the underprivileged, widows and orphans in the society, providing them with material needs, while sharing the gospel with them.
The church’s philanthropic gestures also extend to spending huge sums of money annually to train its members (male and female) in various vocational skills and entrepreneurial ventures and empowering them with start-up capital.
MFM Ministries’ thriving football club in Nigeria’s foremost professional league and female basketball team have given many hopeless youths hope and secured future.
