The Nigerian Content Development Management Board (NCDMB) has trained and issued certificates of participation to 100 youths on GSM Phones’ Hardware repairs & Software installation in Kaduna State.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony on Thursday, the Executive Secretary, Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote FNSE who was ably represented by the Director, Planning Research and Statistics NCDMB, Mr. Patrick Daziba Obah, said:
“This training is the fourth of its kind having conducted similar interventions in Kano, Bauchi, Cross River and Yobe States, impacting 2,900 youths.
“With Nigerian youths accounting for 43% of our population we are blessed to have a large pool of productive populace capable of contributing to economic growth if provided with the right skills and enabling business environment.
Wabote added that through the training, the Board has provided the beneficiaries with the opportunity to harness the potentials in these sectors based on its unique End2End training delivery model which entails:
1. Classroom training phase – software development & installation and hardware repairs
2. Entrepreneurship development phase where trainees benefit from starter packs and entrepreneurship training
3. Mentorship and business development support to facilitate participant’s entry into the business world, and
4. Payment of stipends to augment participants transportation expenses before they start earning income from the trade.
On his part, the honourable member representing Soba Federal Constituency and Vice-Chairman, House Committee on Local Content, Arch. Dr. Ibrahim Hamza thanked the NCDMB for organizing the training.
He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity by becoming independent.
