Thirteen-year-old Rhema-Love Abraham of Precepts Learning Field, Lagos, has been crowned the overall winner of the 2025 Heirs Insurance Essay Championship, a nationwide competition aimed at enhancing financial literacy and academic excellence among Nigerian secondary school students.
Abraham received a ₦5 million scholarship and a ₦1 million grant for her school at the grand finale, held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. This year’s edition, the fourth of its kind, attracted over 5,000 entries from junior secondary school students nationwide, focusing on the topic: The Role of Insurance in Keeping Families Safe and Secure.”
The winner was selected after a rigorous evaluation process conducted by a distinguished panel of academic professionals and independently verified by Deloitte & Touche. Bernice Michael of S TEE High School, Lagos, placed second with a ₦2 million scholarship, while Afopefoluwa Tofio Jacobs of D-IVY College, Ogun State, claimed third, receiving a ₦1 million scholarship.
