The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Limited (CHI), Mrs Mary Adeyanju, has been recognised for her strategic use of digital platforms to deepen insurance awareness and strengthen public engagement across Nigeria.
Adeyanju was honoured with the Insurwatch Social Media Engagement Captain award in recognition of her consistent and impactful digital leadership, which has helped expand insurance penetration and promote greater understanding of insurance as a tool for financial security.
The award, conferred by Insurwatch an industry monitoring and data analytics platform under Inspenonline—is reserved for top insurance executives who demonstrate exceptional leadership by humanising their corporate brands and maintaining an active, transparent, and customer-focused social media presence.
Since assuming leadership of CHI Limited in early 2024, Adeyanju has played a central role in repositioning the company’s communication strategy towards greater accessibility and interaction. Under her leadership, CHI has increasingly used social media to demystify insurance products, making complex concepts more relatable and relevant to everyday financial planning.
Industry observers note that Adeyanju has effectively promoted the “Insurance-is-Lifestyle” narrative, encouraging Nigerians to view insurance not merely as a regulatory requirement, but as a practical instrument for risk management, income protection, and long-term financial stability.
Commenting on the recognition, Publisher of Inspenonline and promoter of Insurwatch, Chuks Okonta, highlighted the importance of visible leadership in building trust within today’s digital economy.
Adeyanju, a Fellow and member of the Governing Council of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, brings extensive industry experience to her role. Prior to her appointment as MD/CEO, she served as Executive Director (Operations), where she was credited with driving significant growth in CHI’s premium income.
The recognition underscores her commitment to financial education, consumer trust, and the broader goal of strengthening Nigeria’s insurance ecosystem through modern, transparent engagement.
