Quick-teller, the digital payments platform powered by the Inters-witch Group, has introduced InsomniaQ, a music and cultural initiative aimed at promoting African creativity, supporting the entertainment ecosystem, and contributing to Lagos’ growing creative economy.
The initiative was unveiled at a media briefing in Lagos, where journalists and industry stakeholders were given an overview of the concept and its broader cultural and social objectives. InsomniaQ is designed as an all night music and lifestyle experience scheduled to take place from the evening of December 21 into the early hours of December 22, 2025.
Beyond entertainment, InsomniaQ reflects Quickteller’s commitment to initiatives that foster community engagement, create platforms for African talent, and stimulate economic opportunities within the creative sector particularly during Nigeria’s peak festive season.
Speaking at the briefing, the Executive Vice President, Group Marketing and Communications, Interswitch Group, Cherry Eromosele, described InsomniaQ as an extension of the company’s purpose-driven approach to engagement.
She noted that the initiative was created to provide meaningful cultural experiences while amplifying African voices and creative expression.
According to her, InsomniaQ aligns with Quickteller’s long standing role as an enabler of everyday connections, now expanded to include cultural storytelling, artistic visibility, and shared community experiences.
Also addressing attendees, the Divisional Head, Growth Marketing (Quickteller Ecosystem), Interswitch, Olawale Akanbi, explained that the all night format was intentionally chosen to reflect the unique energy of Lagos during the December season.
He said the initiative responds to the reality of a city that thrives creatively after dark, especially during festive periods, and was designed to bring people together in a safe, inclusive space that celebrates music, culture, and collective expression. Akanbi added that InsomniaQ prioritises collaboration with African creatives and contributes to sustaining the cultural momentum that supports jobs, tourism, and creative livelihoods.
InsomniaQ blends a wide range of African soundscapes with immersive cultural experiences, making it accessible to music lovers, cultural enthusiasts, and returning Nigerians who contribute significantly to the December economy.
Through this platform, Quickteller aims to reinforce the value of African culture while supporting its continued growth and global relevance.
Interswitch noted that the InsomniaQ concept draws inspiration from the idea that creativity often thrives outside conventional hours, positioning the initiative as a space where innovation, expression, and cultural exchange can flourish.
The briefing also underscored Quickteller’s broader corporate responsibility agenda, which includes supporting initiatives that extend beyond financial services to positively impact culture, lifestyle, and the creative industries across Africa.
