Bukka Hut has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering small business owners following the successful hosting of its annual Bukka Hut Yard Sale 6.0 in December 2025.
In a statement, the food brand said the 2025 edition, themed “One Home, Many Stories,” was held across multiple outlets in Lagos, including Yaba, Anthony, Ogudu and Ikorodu, providing a platform for emerging entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their products.
The company acknowledged that activities at its Lekki outlet were partially disrupted due to unforeseen regulatory challenges. It noted that swift measures were taken to mitigate the impact, including compensating affected vendors and ensuring their continued participation in future editions.
According to Bukka Hut, each affected small business owner at the Lekki location received N50,000 in compensation and was guaranteed a slot at the upcoming Bukka Hut Yard Sale 7.0.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Rasheed Jaiyeola, said the Yard Sale initiative was intentionally created to support budding entrepreneurs and give back to the communities where the brand operates.
The Bukka Hut Yard Sale was created to empower budding entrepreneurs, as this is one of the ways we give back to the communities we operate in. This responsibility does not stop when challenges arise,” he said.
Jaiyeola added that Bukka Hut’s mission extends beyond food service to delivering tangible social and economic impact through people development, entrepreneurial empowerment and community engagement.
The company disclosed that preparations for Yard Sale 7.0 are already underway, reiterating its focus on creating accessible opportunities for small businesses to grow and scale.
Bukka Hut further noted that the increasing acceptance of the Yard Sale initiative reflects the trust entrepreneurs have built in the platform over the years, positioning it as a key driver of grassroots enterprise development in Nigeria.
The company emphasised that the Yard Sale initiative remains a core part of its corporate social responsibility strategy, aimed at addressing the real challenges faced by small and micro businesses across Nigeria.
