Applications are now open for the 2026 Women in STEM Traineeship Programme by Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL). The six month traineeship is designed for young Nigerian women seeking practical experience in sustainable energy, climate finance, energy policy, and project implementation.
The programme offers participants the opportunity to work alongside government officials and project partners while gaining technical knowledge and professional skills that support careers in the energy and sustainability sectors.
Programme Structure
The traineeship combines virtual professional development training with activity-based technical learning. Participants will receive training in areas such as:
- Clean energy implementation
- Climate finance
- Stakeholder engagement
- Project operations
- Data analysis
- Financial modelling
- Communications
- Social media advocacy
Why It Matters
Women remain underrepresented in many STEM and energy-related careers despite growing opportunities in the renewable energy and climate sectors. The SEforALL Women in STEM Traineeship seeks to help bridge this gap by providing young women with technical exposure, mentorship, industry knowledge, and practical experience in one of the world’s fastest-growing sectors.
Participants will also develop skills in climate finance and sustainable energy implementation—areas that are becoming increasingly important as countries work towards achieving affordable, reliable, and clean energy access under Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7).
Beyond supporting individual career growth, the programme contributes to broader efforts to promote gender inclusion in STEM fields and strengthen women’s participation in the global energy transition.
