The United Nation’s Children Fund (UNICEF) says it will collaborate with Jigawa State Emergency for Waste Management Agency to provide support for victims of flooding in the state.
Christiana valderrama, UNICEF’S emergency manager said this during a visit to SEMA. She also stated the importance of understanding risks, opportunities and challenges related to flooding.
She stated that UNICEF plans to support the government in providing assistance through SEMA and the funding part of European Union will support by making cash transfer to about five thousand families.
In her words, she said, “we had a workshop with all stakeholders in November, and we would like to see that the state flood contingency plan is finalized.
