Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has kicked off his administration as on Thursday launched the appeal fund for the 2023 Emblem for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day with a sum of N5 million.
The launch which was held at the Osun Government Secretariat, Abere saw the governor assuring that his administration will continue to provide support for the military, as well as for war veterans and their families, in recognition of their service to the country.
Adeleke said the stability of the country rests on the gallantry, patriotism, and sacrifice of the security and military services.
According to him, service personnel of the Armed Forces were in many volatile areas of the country, confronting and curtailing open and subtle threats to the territorial integrity of Nigeria.
Adeleke then promised to continue to support the veterans and relatives of the fallen heroes for their contribution to the sustenance of peace in the country.
“That we must live, many offered their precious lives. We must therefore continue to acknowledge the contributions of the armed forces to the survival of the nation. Today, I recommit to the well-being of our service personnel. Our veterans and their families will continue to receive our support in recognition of their service to the fatherland. It is on this note that I launch the appeal fund for the 2023 emblem for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day with a sum of N5m,” Adeleke concluded.
