In a major food intervention initiative, the Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has distributed 40,000 bags of rice to vulnerable families in Borno State, providing much-needed relief amid economic hardship and rising food insecurity.
The 10kg rice donation is expected to benefit over 40,000 families, aligning with ADF’s mission to support underserved communities and complement government efforts in tackling hunger.
Governor Zulum Commends Aliko Dangote Foundation for it’s Humanitarian Efforts
During the official flag-off ceremony in Maiduguri, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, represented by State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Director General Ali Abdullahi Isa, expressed deep appreciation for the initiative:
“Today marks a significant milestone in our collective efforts to ease the suffering of our people, particularly during this sacred period. The Aliko Dangote Foundation’s generosity reaffirms its commitment to social welfare and community support.”
He also urged residents to pray for peace and stability in Borno State and Nigeria.

Among the recipients, Aisha Modu, a 50-year-old displaced person, shared her appreciation:

Similarly, Umaru Aliyu, a father of six, emphasized the significance of the donation, expressing heartfelt gratitude to Alhaji Aliko Dangote and his foundation.
