MTN Nigeria has opened applications for the fifth cohort of its Media Innovation Programme (MIP), an initiative designed to equip Nigerian media professionals with advanced skills to navigate the rapidly evolving digital media landscape.
The programme is delivered in partnership with the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, and has grown into one of the country’s leading capacity-building initiatives for journalists, broadcasters, and digital content creators.
This year’s edition also coincides with MTN Nigeria’s 25-year milestone, reflecting the organisation’s continued investment in strengthening media practice and storytelling capacity in Nigeria.
Building Capacity for a Digital Media Era
The Media Innovation Programme is structured as a six-week intensive learning experience spread over six months, combining in-person training, industry exposure, and international learning opportunities.
The curriculum is designed to equip participants with practical skills tailored to today’s fast-changing media ecosystem, with a focus on digital storytelling, emerging technologies, and sustainable content creation.
Participants will undergo 30 days of classroom-based training, followed by a seven-day fully funded international study visit to South Africa.
The programme also includes sessions at MTN Nigeria and MTN Group Headquarters, as well as visits to media organisations, innovation hubs, and industry institutions.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate strong storytelling ability, adaptability to innovation, and a commitment to professional development within the media industry.
