Just like the versatile skater, some people have refused to pigeon themselves inside a hole irrespective of how well they are doing therein. They strive for a new strength in them wherein they can navigate the universe. Once they are able to gather enough of this strength, the universe becomes theirs to explore.
No one else perfectly fits a description of the above, than BARRISTER RILWAN ATIKU, a young real estate practitioner and a Barrister at Law, former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of one of the foremost real estate companies in Nigeria, Riveton Homes and Properties Ltd and currently the Founding Partner of ALP Law Company, a modern, cutting-edge, tech-driven and innovative Law Firm in Lagos, Nigeria. This Lawyer and Business Investor earned his PhD at the young age of 32.
While the world was thinking he was going to rest oars and bask in the euphoria of the laurels from the prestigious award of Honour by the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics (CIPRMP), Ghana, they were awoken to the shock of him leaving the very sector he has led to achieving various milestones and where he has grafted him name on the hall of fame to another area in which he also wasted no time in establishing himself.
In case you don’t know, Riveton Properties and Homes Ltd is a real estate company that is committed to selling and developing quality and comfortable homes and landed properties at not just affordable prices, but with the interest and wellbeing of their clients at heart. These estates are usually located around the beach areas and water sides. Any time beach housing and water side homes are thought of, the first consideration is usually, Riveton Properties and Homes.
He said so by himself: “We develop top quality projects with our customers in mind. We build to serve their desires.
“We are Building New Nigerian Communities through Real Estate and Hospitality by Redefining Real Estate in Nigeria, one project at a time.”
Like one writer rightly mentioned, there are lots of established real estate firms that have become notable and should be commended for their impact in the industry. This, of course, can only be due to the striving efforts initiated by the CEOs and Managing Directors of such firms and not without mentioning their employees.
“These CEO’s have shown exemplary leadership and have successfully positioned their companies as leaders in the Nigeria Real Estate industry whilst continuing to prove that Nigeria indeed possesses abundant human resources that can make her stand tall across the world.”
Dr. Barrister Rilwan Atiku can be said to have succeeded in embossing his name on gold in the real estate sector before calling it quit to his now passion of wearing the wig of the Learned Fellows.
It would be interesting to know that though Rilwan Atiku came into the limelight through Riveton Properties and Homes, he was actually the brain behind Atican Nigeria Ltd., a family real estate and hospitality concern that develops properties in serene estates and beast resorts. One of their estates include Atican Beachview Estate and Atican Beach Resort, an estate project which was sold out in less than six months of completion.
On the stable of Riveton Properties and Homes are Almond Green Estate also in Lekki Scheme II environ in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State; Laguna Beach Club and Laguna Beach House. They also have some other laudable projects like the proposed new affordable estate coming up in the heart of Epe Town and their apartment project at Abraham Adesanya.
While still a realtor and developer, he explained that what drives him was his passion for real estate and hospitality as he feels Nigerians deserve good things and that the only way he could give them that was through real estate and hospitality.
The above achievements must have caught the keen eyes of The Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics, Ghana who saw the need to confer on him, an award of recognition for his strides in business management.
This goal getter, leader, team player and shrewd lawyer and businessman is a trusted hand in land and property law and has avid legal experience in the real estate and hospitality industry. It was not by chance that Rilwan Atiku made his exploits in the real estate and hospitality business. Below is his profile that points to his various achievements:
He is a graduate of the famous University of Ghana where he studied Political Science and History, graduating with a Second Class Upper Degree.
He later furthered his education by attending the prestigious University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom (UK) where he studied law and graduated once more with a Second Class Upper degree.
Upon the completion of his law degree, Rilwan Atiku attended the mandatory law training programme at the Nigerian Law School for his Bar qualification. He was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2016.

Ironically, after three years of captaining the ship of Riveton Properties and Homes, and its unmentioned subsidiaries, he decided to step down as the Managing Director/CEO, according to him, to start a new journey in his life.
Riveton Homes and Properties is a private outfit he personally started with just one employee. As at the time he was stepping down from that position, the company boasted of 30 employees.
“From where I stopped, I know others will continue from there. Riveton from now on will be managed by its Board of Executives, The Executive Team,” those were his parting words.
