Billionaire Femi Otedola donates N1 bn to Lagos State Security Trust Fund

Nigerian billionaire investor Femi Otedola has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the safety and security of Lagos State with a substantial donation of N1 billion to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF).

In a symbolic handover ceremony held at Lagos House, Marina, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu graciously accepted the generous contribution, presented by Mr. Otedola’s daughter, Tolani Otedola. The event, which took place on Wednesday, was witnessed by key government officials and members of the press.

The donation, a testament to Otedola’s continuous support for the LSSTF, is poised to fortify the fund’s mission of enhancing security measures across the state. The Lagos State Security Trust Fund, established in 2007 as a public-private partnership, has been instrumental in complementing the Federal Government’s efforts to ensure safety and security.

Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Sanwo-Olu, officially disclosed this significant contribution by Otedola, emphasizing the billionaire’s consistent backing of the LSSTF. Otedola’s ongoing support has firmly established him as the foremost individual donor to the fund.

The N1 billion contribution is anticipated to foster greater collaboration between the public sector and private philanthropy, further empowering the LSSTF to execute its critical role in supporting law enforcement agencies for nearly two decades.

Tolani Otedola, representing her father at the ceremony, commended Governor Sanwo-Olu and the LSSTF for their tireless dedication to ensuring the safety of Lagos residents. She also encouraged the Fund to continue its legacy of transparency and prudent resource management.
