BUA Cement Strengthens Healthcare Access in Sokoto with N35 Million Medical Supply Donation
In a significant show of corporate responsibility, BUA Cement Company has donated medical supplies worth N35 million to 16 clinics across Wamakko Local Government Area, Sokoto State. This initiative is part of the company’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, aimed at enhancing healthcare services in its host communities.
Speaking on behalf of BUA Cement’s Managing Director, Yusuf Binji, the Assistant Director of Human Resources and Corporate Services, Sada Suleiman, stated that the intervention was expanded from eight to 16 clinics due to the increasing healthcare demands in the region.
“Giving back to our communities is a priority for BUA Cement. This initiative strengthens our relationship with host communities and ensures mutual benefits,” said Binji.
The donation aligns with Sokoto State Government’s healthcare development goals, ensuring that residents have improved access to essential medical supplies.

Beyond Healthcare: A Commitment to Community Development
Beyond healthcare interventions, BUA Cement is actively supporting rural development through potable water projects, electrification, road construction, scholarships, and empowerment programs for women and youth.
The Chairman of Wamakko Local Government Area, Umar Dundaye, praised the company’s strategic intervention, noting that it would significantly ease the burden on families and improve overall healthcare delivery. Represented by Primary Healthcare Coordinator, Umar Tureta, he urged healthcare personnel to ensure proper use and distribution of the donated supplies to those in need.
Additionally, Traditional Head of Wajekke, Mailato Gumbi, commended BUA Cement for its generosity, expressing optimism that the contribution would positively impact the well-being of the community.
The medical supplies will benefit clinics in Bakin Kusu, Gidan Bailu, Malabaina, Sabon Garin Ali, Gidan Boka, Asare, Arkilla, Wamakko, Gwuiwa, Beni, Farfaru, Kaurar Kuma, Wajeke, Gumbi, and the Mobile Police Barracks clinic.
As BUA Cement continues to set a high standard for CSR-driven development, stakeholders have encouraged other corporations and affluent individuals to follow suit in bridging healthcare and infrastructural gaps in underserved communities.
