Call for Applications: 2025 Gender Just Climate Solutions Awards Offers €5,000 Prize and Trip to COP30 in Brazil

The Women & Gender Constituency (WGC), in collaboration with Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF), has opened the call for applications for the prestigious 2025 Gender Just Climate Solutions Awards. Grassroots and women-led initiatives worldwide are invited to apply for a chance to win a €5,000 cash prize and an all-expenses-paid trip to COP30, the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference in Belém, Brazil this November.

The awards aim to spotlight innovative, effective, and gender-responsive climate solutions developed and implemented by communities disproportionately affected by climate change—especially women and marginalized groups.

“Real climate action must be inclusive, equitable, and led by those who are most affected,” said a WGC spokesperson. “This award elevates the voices and visions of grassroots innovators creating real change.”

Award Categories

Applications are welcome in the following three categories:

1. Technical Solutions – Including sustainable energy, climate-resilient agriculture, water management, and technology-based climate responses.
2. Non-Technical Solutions – Focused on community mobilization, education, cultural practices, and advocacy for gender-inclusive climate action.
3. Transformational Solutions – Projects that address root causes of inequality and climate injustice, and foster systemic change.

What Winners Receive

• A €5,000 award to support the scaling of their solution
• A fully funded trip to COP30 in Brazil
• Participation in a capacity-building workshop and recognition event during the conference
• Inclusion in the 2025 Gender Just Climate Solutions publication, distributed to climate stakeholders and policy leaders at COP30

Additionally, up to 12 outstanding projects will be featured in the award publication and promoted globally as models of inclusive climate action.

Who Should Apply

Eligible applicants include non-governmental organizations, community-based initiatives, and grassroots movements that have operated for at least one year and are actively contributing to climate justice and gender equality.
