Centre for Ability Rehabilitation and Empowerment, a non-governmental organization championing the cause of less privileged; particularly empowering the PLWD has won the SDG GOAL 10 Champion of the Year Award. The organization is one of those distinguished NGOs to be honored at this year’s edition of CSR REPORTERS Nonprofit Roundtable and Excellence Awards holding in Abuja in July.
Some parts of Nigeria and Africa indeed have witnessed and is still witnessing rejection, condemnation leading to abject depression that has ravaged the continent for decades. There is therefore the need for certain agencies and organizations to come on board and recreate a dimensional effects that will breathe new ideologies towards transforming the dejected.
This is where the Centre for Ability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment (CARE) comes to the fore. It was founded with the mission of discovering and empowering the hopeless members of the larger society and in the same vein, monitoring their developmental processes.
The event organized by CSR Reporters, Africa’s premier platform for news on Social Impact and Sustainability practices is to celebrate the contributions of Nonprofits in communities and funders across Nigeria. It is further to recognize and honor the achievements of outstanding members of the Nonprofit community who have freely and consistently committed their time and expertise to the needs of others by promoting inclusion, innovation and access in their personal and professional communities.
