Global energy giant Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) has officially opened applications for
its highly anticipated 2025 Internship Program, offering Nigerian students and recent
graduates an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in one of the world’s leading integrated
energy companies.
The program, part of Chevron’s commitment to youth empowerment and capacity building in
Nigeria, is open to candidates across various academic disciplines including engineering,
geosciences, finance, information technology, environmental sciences, and business
administration.
According to Chevron’s General Manager for Policy, Government and Public Affairs, Mr.
Emeka Okonkwo, the internship initiative is designed to nurture the next generation of
Nigerian professionals through immersive, real-world exposure to the energy sector.
“We believe in investing in talent and empowering young people with practical skills that
prepare them for the workforce,” Okonkwo stated. “Our internship program is a pipeline for
future leaders — in Chevron and across Nigeria’s economy.”

The internship will run for a duration of 6 to 12 months, depending on the field of study and
academic calendar of participating institutions. Selected interns will be placed across
Chevron’s operational locations in Nigeria, where they will work alongside seasoned
professionals, participate in real-time projects, and receive mentorship and performance
evaluations.
Eligibility criteria include:
- Nigerian citizenship
- Enrollment in a recognized Nigerian or international university/polytechnic
- Minimum CGPA of 3.0 or equivalent
- Demonstrated leadership potential and interest in the energy sector
Applications are currently open on the Chevron Nigeria careers portal and will close on
June 15, 2025. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply early, as competition is
expected to be intense.
The initiative is aligned with Chevron’s broader corporate social responsibility strategy,
which emphasizes education, skills development, and sustainable community engagement.
