In a demonstration of Christian Social Responsibility (CSR), Prophet Christson Orovwuje, the esteemed Senior Pastor of Pacesetters Prophetic Interdenominational Ministry Warri, has announced a significant initiative to provide sustenance for over 1000 underprivileged children. This remarkable effort is set to commence in January 2024 as part of the ministry’s commitment to addressing societal needs.
The announcement was made during a press briefing recently which coinciding with the unveiling of the ‘God of Suddenly’ event scheduled for January 2024 in Warri, Delta State. Prophet Christson Orovwuje emphasized the integral role of faith-based organizations in contributing to societal welfare, going beyond spiritual obligations to actively impact communities through initiatives encompassing education, healthcare, and charity.
Highlighting the Christian ethos of serving society, the Prophet referenced the teachings of Matthew 5:16, stressing the essence of Christian Social Responsibility as an imperative rooted in demonstrating love and compassion. He expressed deep concern over the pervasive issue of hunger affecting numerous families, especially children, underscoring the alarming global statistics that reveal a humanitarian crisis.
Citing reports from reputable organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization, which indicate the staggering prevalence of undernourishment and the tragic consequences of starvation, Prophet Christson Orovwuje emphasized the urgency for collective action. He pointed out that while governments bear significant responsibility, individuals and communities, particularly Christians, have a vital role in addressing this critical issue.
“The enormity of hunger-related challenges worldwide necessitates our immediate attention and concerted efforts,” stated Prophet Christson Orovwuje. “As responsible citizens and followers of Christ, it is incumbent upon us to extend a helping hand to the less privileged, mirroring the compassionate deeds of Jesus during His earthly ministry.”
