AFRICA SOCIAL IMPACT DRIVERS! Aliko Dangote: Powering Prosperity Beyond Profit
Dangote Cement Plc is once again taking center stage as a lead sponsor of the 19th Africa International Housing Show (AIHS), which opened on Monday at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. The prestigious event brings together housing and construction stakeholders from across 21 countries, offering an unparalleled platform for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration in the housing sector.
In a statement signed by the company’s spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina, Dangote Cement confirmed its dual role as sponsor and participant in this year’s event.
“With over 40,000 attendees—including industry leaders, government officials, and investors—this forum provides a powerful opportunity for Dangote Cement to showcase its innovative building solutions directly to key decision-makers,” Chiejina said.
He added that the company has consistently supported AIHS over the years and remains committed to partnering with stakeholders to tackle Africa’s housing challenges and promote affordable shelter solutions across the continent.
This year’s theme, “Reimagining Housing Through Innovation,” aligns with Dangote Cement’s core values and its continued investment in forward-thinking solutions for sustainable building and infrastructure.
Coordinator of the Africa Housing Show, Barr. Festus Adebayo, emphasized the importance of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) in addressing Nigeria’s housing deficit.
“Innovation and collaboration are our top priorities as we embrace new technologies in construction, financing, and housing systems. The partnership with Dangote Cement will help shift the narrative around the country’s housing shortfall,” he noted.
Adebayo also highlighted the strategic value for exhibitors, noting that over 82% of attendees are key decision-makers, ensuring that brands like Dangote Cement engage directly with those who have real purchasing power.
Dangote Cement has long been recognized by industry stakeholders, including the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB), as a key driver of real estate development in Nigeria and across the region. Through continued sponsorship and innovation, the company reinforces its role in shaping the future of Africa’s housing and construction landscape.
