The inaugural Digital Professional Fair (DPF) is poised to equip 10,000 young Nigerians with essential digital skills, career mentorship, and entrepreneurial insights. Set for August 6th–8th in Lagos, the Fair will convene freelancers, students, startups, and professionals from across the country—both in-person and virtually.
More than just an event, the Fair is being described as a movement to unlock Africa’s digital potential, according to Tutu Adetunmbi, Convener of DPF. “We’re bridging the gap between raw potential and real opportunity,” she said at a pre-event briefing. “Africa’s digital economy is the now, not the future.”
Over 3,000 have already registered, with 1,500 daily participants expected onsite and online, culminating in a total audience of about 10,000.
The 3-day Fair is organized around professional stages:
- Day One: Digital Career Kickstart (Ages 18–24) – Foundational skills, certification access, and career guidance.
- Day Two: Freelancer & Solopreneur Bootcamp (Ages 25–30) – Monetizing digital skills, building in the gig economy, and launching online businesses.
- Day Three: Scaling & Global Expansion (Ages 30+) – Advanced growth strategies, global scaling, funding, and partnerships.
A digital marketplace for SMEs will also be featured, giving youth-led businesses and solopreneurs an opportunity to pitch their offerings, attract investors, and form strategic collaborations.
Through these initiatives, DPF aims to ignite digital innovation, employment, and inclusive economic growth across Nigeria.
