Member, Federal House of Representatives Yagba Federal Constituency, Hon. Leke Abejide, has sought humanitarian support from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for victims of rainstorm disaster in Isanlu, Iyamerim and Odo Ere communities in Yagba Federal Constituency.
Hon. Leke Abejide sent a team to visit and mark affected houses in Isanlu, Yagba East and other areas affected in the Yagba Federal Constituency.
In his letter to the Director-General of NEMA seeking assistance for those affected by the rainstorm disaster which wreaked havoc on over 300 houses in Yagba.
Hon. Abejide noted that many families had been rendered homeless since the incident as their Houses were destroyed as a result of the tragic rainstorm incident.
“In the wake of the tragic incident, many people have been rendered homeless while properties were lost because of the havoc they suffered from the rainstorms that wiped out their Houses, properties and life savings were destroyed”.
“This has created a humanitarian situation for those affected by the storm as they are no longer able to cater to the basic daily needs and many are now homeless.
“It is important that these affected persons immediately receive relief materials to ease further human suffering, while they go about rebuilding their ruined roofs and houses to get back on their feet.
“It is on this note that I make a passionate appeal and request to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), to come to the aid of the over Three Hundred affected houses for relief materials to be made available and distributed for them.
“The relief materials will go to the people and families that have been impacted by the rainstorm disaster in Yagba Federal Constituency”.
