Ecovis OUC, a prominent accounting firm renowned for its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), has once again exemplified the spirit of generosity by extending joy and support to the residents of Apapa Local Government in Lagos State. The firm proudly announced the donation of 300 bags of rice and a cash contribution through its cherished annual Christmas CSR initiative.
During a heartfelt ceremony inaugurating this initiative, Andrew Uviase, the Managing Partner of Ecovis OUC, shared the origins and evolution of the CSR program. He expressed, “Our dedication to positively impact the lives of our community members led to the inception of this initiative in 2015 when we started by distributing rice to about 50 individuals. Over the years, it has steadily grown, reaching 300 beneficiaries this year. Additionally, each recipient will receive a cash token of 5000. Despite the prevailing economic challenges in our country, we’re thrilled to continue this tradition.”
Uviase commended the unwavering dedication of Ecovis OUC’s staff and encouraged them to remain optimistic about the future. He forecasted a promising outlook for 2024, emphasizing, “We foresee an improved economic landscape in the coming year. The current administration has taken decisive steps towards unlocking the economy from various hindrances. I am confident that the future holds better prospects for all.”
In a gracious acknowledgment of Ecovis OUC’s ongoing commitment, Idowu Sebanjo, Chairman of Apapa LGA, expressed gratitude for the firm’s steadfast support of the CSR initiative. Represented by Wilshere Tosan, Supervisor of Information, Intergovernmental Relations, and Budget, Sebanjo lauded Ecovis OUC’s efforts towards community development and social responsibility. He remarked, “The initiative underscores Ecovis OUC’s dedication to the welfare of our community. As Apapa residents prepare for the festive season, this benevolent act will undoubtedly bring warmth and joy to the households touched by Ecovis OUC’s goodwill.”
