
In a strategic move to equip young Nigerians with essential business skills, the Federal Ministry of Youth Development has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with leading payment technology firm, Flutterwave. The collaboration aims to provide youth entrepreneurs with access to training, mentorship, and business opportunities.
According to a statement released on March 7, 2025, the signing ceremony was attended by the Minister for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, the Permanent Secretary, Olubunmi Olusanya, and other senior officials.
Speaking at the event, Flutterwave’s Founder and CEO, Olugbenga Agboola, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to fostering sustainable solutions that empower Nigerian youths. He emphasized that the partnership would facilitate access to training, business engagement, and networking opportunities, ultimately driving long-term economic impact.

Minister Olawande commended Flutterwave for its dedication to youth empowerment, noting that the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s eight priority pillars. He highlighted the critical role of key agencies under the ministry, including the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the Citizenship & Leadership Training Centre (CLTC), in executing the programme.
“This partnership will expand access to training and mentorship, support youth-led businesses to drive innovation, strengthen technical and leadership development, and leverage technology to create sustainable employment opportunities,” the statement read.
The minister concluded by emphasizing that the collaboration will significantly enhance the ministry’s efforts to position Nigerian youth as key drivers of economic growth and national transformation.
