The Federal Ministry of Education is set to officially launch the Diaspora BRIDGE Platform on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the State House in Abuja. This strategic initiative aims to connect Nigerian professionals and academics in the diaspora with the country’s tertiary institutions and research bodies, strengthening collaboration in research, innovation, and development.
The launch will be led by Vice President Kashim Shettima and Minister of Education Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, signaling a transformative step toward global academic engagement.
BRIDGE, which stands for Bridging Research, Innovation, Development, and Global Engagement, will enable diaspora experts to register their skills and collaborate with Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. Likewise, local institutions can outline their specific needs, allowing for structured, demand-driven partnerships.
The platform will integrate with the federal government’s TERAS system, promoting transparency, academic matchmaking, and real-time project tracking. It also includes digital tools for virtual collaboration, enabling seamless interaction regardless of location.
All education, innovation, and research stakeholders are encouraged to explore the platform at www.diaspora-bridge.ng, as Nigeria deepens ties with its global academic community.
