The Elens Foundation has once again reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian service with the successful completion of its Widows Support Outreach, a remarkable initiative aimed at empowering widows and fostering economic independence in their communities.
The outreach, held at One Man Village, Nasarawa State, attracted hundreds of widows from neighboring villages who benefited from financial support, business sessions, and food supplies. These provisions were designed to help them regain stability and independence.
Speaking at the event, the foundation’s founder, Ambassador Richy E. Onolememen, emphasized the importance of supporting vulnerable groups in society. “Widows are often overlooked in society, yet they bear the heavy burden of providing for their families alone. Through this initiative, we aim to ease their struggles and give them hope for a better future,” he stated.

A significant milestone was recorded during the event as the foundation welcomed its first male child, nine-year-old Jedidiah Linus, into the Elens family. Following the sudden passing of his father, Jedidiah faced challenges in his upbringing, and the foundation stepped in to provide care. This marks the beginning of a legacy of supporting more children in need in the future.
A standout feature of the program was the launch of “The Elens Foundation Widows Interest-Free Loan Cooperative” (EFWIFLC), a groundbreaking initiative aimed at granting financial independence to widows. By providing interest-free loans for startup businesses, the foundation ensures that widows have the necessary resources to rebuild their lives and break the cycle of poverty.
Ambassador Chioma Lynda Onwuka, President of the Elens Foundation, led a business session for the widows, offering practical guidance on how to start and sustain small-scale businesses. The session aimed to equip the beneficiaries with the knowledge needed to achieve long-term financial stability.
Many of the widows expressed heartfelt appreciation for the initiative. “This support has come at a crucial time for me and my children. I now have the means to start a small trade and sustain my family,” one of the beneficiaries shared.
The Widows Support Outreach is part of the Elens Foundation’s broader mission to drive social impact through humanitarian efforts. With past initiatives focusing on zero-hunger outreach, skill acquisition, and economic empowerment, the foundation continues to be a beacon of hope for the underprivileged in society.
