In the wake of recent attacks and displacement in Plateau State, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team of Gbenga Samuel-Wemimo Ministries International (GSWMI) has stepped up to provide relief materials to four Internally Displaced Person (IDP) camps within the Bokkos community.
Dr. Lolade Akinrinlola, the GSWMI-CSR team lead, emphasized the urgent need to support the displaced persons during these challenging times. In a statement issued on Friday in Lagos, Akinrinlola shared the ministry’s commitment to being a beacon of light in the darkest hour for those affected.
“In response to the suffering of the Bokkos people, the GSWMI-CSR Jos chapter took a firm stand to deliver much-needed aid to those who lost everything in the recent attacks. Our mission is to provide comfort, dignity, and a glimmer of hope to over 1,000 individuals sheltered in the four IDP camps within the Bokkos community,” stated Akinrinlola.
The CSR team, driven by love and a spirit of Christian service, commenced its activities this year with a focus on the Bokkos community. Essential resources, including sanitary pads, baby diapers, and food supplies, were distributed to the displaced persons, bringing not just material relief but also a powerful message of resilience and shared humanity.
Akinrinlola expressed gratitude for the unwavering spirit of the Bokkos community, noting, “It’s heartening to witness the undefeated spirit of a community mending its wounds. The people of Bokkos received our aid with gratitude and joy.”
GSWMI remains committed to its mission of providing support, care, and compassion to communities in need, especially during times of crisis.
