The Guild of Civil Societies and Media Executives for Equity, Justice, and Transparency in Nigeria (GOCMEJ) has lauded the remarkable transformation and operational efficiency spearheaded by the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Abubakar Ahmed Audi.
GOCMEJ highlighted key achievements under Dr. Audi’s leadership, including streamlined internal processes for optimal performance, heightened staff morale, enhanced surveillance of critical assets, prompt payment of allowances, strict discipline, and a well-structured chain of command.
The organization also commended the NSCDC’s transparency in procurement processes and its strategic innovations that have positioned it as a modern paramilitary force.
Omoba Kenneth Aigbegbele, GOCMEJ’s Country Representative and President, made these remarks during a strategic roundtable town hall meeting with Southwest leaders in Lagos. According to him, the current leadership has significantly elevated corporate governance and professionalism within the corps, driving visible and impactful changes.
“For the first time in the history of the agency, we are witnessing these remarkable improvements despite the numerous challenges it faces,” Aigbegbele stated.
GOCMEJ further recognized the NSCDC’s intensified efforts in combating cybercrimes, child abuse, and illegal private security firms, as well as its crackdown on smugglers, oil thieves, and vandals in the Niger Delta. The organization emphasized the importance of sustaining these efforts to protect Nigeria’s economic assets.
Dr. Audi has issued a directive to state commandants, reinforcing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption. He has mandated officers to eliminate economic sabotage in the oil sector and safeguard critical national infrastructure from criminal activities.
Additionally, the statement acknowledged the vital role of the NSCDC’s mining marshals and agro-rangers in strengthening food security. Their efforts have enabled farmers to operate safely, ensuring stable agricultural production across the country.
With these transformative initiatives, Dr. Audi’s leadership continues to set a new standard for security operations in Nigeria, reinforcing national stability and economic resilience.
