Soludo was recently honored as the most-performing governor in primary healthcare in the Southeast and across Nigeria, securing a combined $1.2 million in awards.
Operation Udo Ga-Achi: Transforming Security in Anambra
Soludo’s administration continues to prioritize safety with the launch of Operation Udo Ga-Achi, a comprehensive initiative designed to make Anambra the safest state in Nigeria. This strategic security intervention has been approved by the Anambra State Executive Council, further cementing the government’s commitment to peace and stability.
Infrastructure Projects to Accelerate Development
In line with its development agenda, the Anambra State Executive Council has approved several infrastructure projects, including:
- Rehabilitation of Major Roads: Contracts have been awarded for the Eze Uzu Junction to Arroma Junction along the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway in Awka and the access road to Chinua Achebe International Airport in Umueri.
- Flood Control and Bus Terminal Expansion: Phase II of the Ekwulobia flood control project will be implemented alongside the development of 624 open stalls at the Modern Bus Terminal in Ekwulobia.
- Urban Beautification: Projects include the rehabilitation of the Amawbia Flyover to Arroma Junction and the installation of outdoor furniture at Solution Fun City in Awka.
Digital Connectivity and Education Initiatives
As part of efforts to enhance education and digital access, the state government has approved:
- Free Internet Services: High-speed internet connectivity will be provided to Nwafor Orizu College of Education and the College of Health Technology, Obosi.
- Educational Infrastructure: Construction of a gatehouse, perimeter fencing, and clearing for the Ekwulobia Modern Bus Terminal has also been approved.
Judiciary and Security Enhancements
The Anambra State Judiciary will soon benefit from the completion of judges’ quarters in Onitsha, while newly acquired security vehicles will be equipped with advanced hardware security gadgets to bolster law enforcement efforts across the state.
SABER Program and Economic Reforms
The State Action on Business Enabling Reform (SABER) program, aimed at improving the business climate, has earned Anambra the top spot in Southern Nigeria and seventh nationwide in a recent peer review. Governor Soludo continues to prioritize consultative engagement with ministries, agencies, and the private sector to sustain economic growth.
