Lagos, Nigeria – The ICAN-BOI Innovation Hub, a joint initiative of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Bank of Industry (BOI), has announced the
call for applications for the 2025 edition of the iHack4SDG Challenge, a high-impact
hackathon designed to tackle critical Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through
technology and innovation.
Set to take place in Lagos, the hackathon promises a total of ₦8 million in cash prizes,
alongside other life-changing benefits such as incubation support, mentorship opportunities,
and strategic access to development networks. The competition is open to developers,
entrepreneurs, and changemakers passionate about solving Africa’s most pressing social,
economic, and environmental challenges.
According to the organizers, the iHack4SDG Challenge is not just about coding—it’s about
creating sustainable, scalable solutions that align with the United Nations SDGs, from
poverty reduction and quality education to climate action and decent work.
“This hackathon is an extension of our commitment to national development through
innovation. It fosters an inclusive ecosystem where young minds can apply creativity
and critical thinking to solve real-world problems,” said Bunmi Adeyemi, Director of
Strategy at the ICAN-BOI Innovation Hub.

Top teams will also gain entry into the ICAN-BOI incubation program, where they will
receive guidance in business development, legal structuring, funding access, and product
