
The 2025 International Women’s Day celebration, hosted by Event Diary Lifestyle, was a transformative event focused on equipping young girls with knowledge, innovation, and financial literacy. Held at Top Teez Academy, Ojodu Abiodun, the event brought together 200 students from Top Teez Academy, Highscope School, and Real Prudent Height Academy for an impactful day of learning and empowerment.
In her opening address, Princess Adeola Shittu, convener of the Young Girls in School Initiative, reaffirmed the program’s commitment to empowering young girls through education, skills acquisition, and digital literacy.
“This initiative is growing stronger each year. Our goal is to ensure young girls have the knowledge, confidence, and resources to break barriers and excel in all fields, especially in technology, finance, and leadership,” she stated.
She extended gratitude to NDLEA, Akin Ogunbiyi Foundation, Access Holdings PLC, and Mutual Benefits Assurance PLC for their unwavering support in making the event a success.
Delivering the keynote address, Kofoworola Belo-Osagie emphasized the critical role of knowledge and innovation in shaping young girls’ futures. She shed light on Nigeria’s demographic and socio-economic challenges, including poverty, early marriage, and limited access to education, urging the students to embrace education and digital literacy as tools for empowerment.

“You must build competence, confidence, and courage to compete in a world driven by innovation. Leverage technology for learning, skill development, and problem-solving, and position yourselves as future leaders and change-makers,” she encouraged.
The event also featured a special awareness session led by Mrs. Dick Muliat Adunni from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), who educated students on the dangers of substance abuse and peer pressure. She stressed the importance of making informed life choices and staying away from harmful influences.

One of the event’s standout moments was the collaborative effort between Access Holdings PLC and Event Diary Lifestyle, which empowered six outstanding students by opening new bank accounts for them and awarding cash prizes to encourage financial literacy and responsible money management.
Additionally, the Akin Ogunbiyi Foundation supported a raffle draw, where one lucky student won the Mutual Benefits Assurance PLC Children Education Plan, a structured savings initiative designed to secure children’s educational futures.
