Interswitch has sponsored the maiden edition of the Kano Startup Weekend (KSW), held from December 13 to 14, 2025, reinforcing its commitment to supporting innovation and early stage entrepreneurship in Northern Nigeria.
The inaugural event, themed “Igniting Innovation & Empowering Entrepreneurs, brought together aspiring founders, developers, mentors, and investors, providing a platform to nurture startup ideas and accelerate business growth.
Speaking at the event, Interswitch’s Chief Information Officer, Patrick Okebu, highlighted the strategic importance of strengthening regional innovation ecosystems.
Kano Startup Weekend reflects the depth of entrepreneurial potential emerging from Northern Nigeria, Okebu said. “At Interswitch, we understand that innovation flourishes when founders have access to the right platforms, mentorship, and enabling infrastructure.”
