Jobberman has expanded its efforts to link young Nigerians with career opportunities in the country’s rapidly growing $4.7bn creative economy, hosting the 2025 Lagos Career Fair Creative Economy Edition.
The event, held at Daystar Christian Centre, Ikeja, brought together over 1,600 participants, including job seekers, employers, government officials, and industry leaders. Organised in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, the fair focused on bridging the gap between creative talent and real employment opportunities.
According to Olamide Adeyeye, Country Head of Programmes at Jobberman Nigeria, the fair was created to equip young people with the skills, mentorship, and access needed to thrive in creative fields.
“Our goal is simple: connect talent to opportunity and transform potential into prosperity,” she said. “Nigeria’s creative economy is booming, but many young creatives still face barriers. This fair helps break those barriers.”
The event featured masterclasses, panel sessions, fireside chats, and on-the-spot interviews with over 90 employers. Several participants secured jobs during the fair, including Valentine Okoh, an NYSC member who received an unexpected offer after a brief conversation with recruiters.
Another standout moment was the ‘Pitch Yourself in 30 Seconds’ contest, where six finalists showcased their talent to employers. One of them, Ndu Grace, received a job offer immediately after her pitch.
Keynote speaker Chude Jideonwo, founder of Joy Inc. and host of WithChude, encouraged youths to embrace authenticity, courage, and creativity. “Overtaking is now allowed,” he said, urging participants to turn their frustrations into powerful stories.
Representing the Lagos State Government, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, reaffirmed the state’s commitment to empowering young creatives to compete globally.
Speakers and panellists including Amanda Jaiyeola, Dr. Bunmi Kole-Dawodu, Doyinsola Atanda-Obalakun, Ola Cardoso, and Millie Slade shared insights on innovation, career growth, and monetising skills in the creative sector. Media personality Tomike Adeoye also led a masterclass on “Monetising Your Voice.”
Jobberman’s Head of Marketing, Babajide Anjorin, described the fair as more than an event: This is a movement connecting young Nigerians to meaningful opportunities in the creative economy.” Through its growing initiatives, Jobberman continues to position itself as a major catalyst for youth employment and creative industry development in Nigeria.
