This year’s edition of the CSR Reporters’ Nonprofit Excellence Awards will be honoring the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities for the exemplary role its playing in promoting and engendering the protection of the rights of people with disability across Nigeria. The award of excellence in promotion and protection of rights of Persons with Dissability to this frontline NGO is in recognition of the dedication and commitment towards achieving growth and inclusive development.
In some parts of the world, disabled people find it extremely difficult to cope with the high level of discrimination melted on them by their fellow human beings who capitalize on their conditions, nonchalantly. It is often painful to imagine some lucky ones maltreating or stigmatizing disabled people without any reasons.
Ever since the creation of the Joint Association of Persons with Disabilities, there have been tremendous changes in public perception and behaviors towards them. The association has taken drastic actions in securing well formulated policies guiding the rights of disabled members of the larger community and shielding them away from any form of discrimination. These actions have been so effective in breathing a new life into the affairs of people with disabilities and the general public.
The event which holds on July 6th is organized by CSR Reporters, Africa’s premier platform for news on Social Impact and Sustainability practices to celebrate the contributions of Nonprofits in communities across Nigeria. It is further to recognize and honor the achievements of outstanding members of the Nonprofit community who have freely and consistently committed their time and expertise to the needs of others by promoting inclusion, innovation and access in their personal and professional communities
CSR REPORTERS’ Nonprofit Roundtable and Excellence Awards is an annual event of CSR REPORTERS MAGAZINE to recognize, honor and celebrate the outstanding efforts of nonprofit organizations in general and the leaders that have made transformative impact on Nigerian society in the year under review.
