It was a moment of joy and self-realization as over 80 widows, 200 aged people and people living with disabilities, and others in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State received both 50kg and 25kg bag of rice each from a Philanthropist, Chief Kenneth Ifekudu Agbalanze Onyekachukwu, having a philanthropic scheme to reduce the hardship., to alleviate their plights.
During the presentation of some bags of rice on Sunday to the people from four quarters of Ozubulu and neighboring towns, Ihembosi, Oraifite, and Okija, the Coordinator, Mr. Owen Okoye distributed both 50kg and 25kg to the beneficiaries at the Chief Ifekaudu ‘s village Eziora Ozubulu.
Mr. Owen said that the philanthropist Agbalanze Ifekaudu was moved to remember the less privileged at Yuletide, saying that it was a season of giving and showing love and “I love giving back to the society’’.
“The distribution of these bags of rice is borne out of the need to express love to our people, particularly the vulnerable people.”
Mr. Nnamdi Ifekaudu Chinewubeze, a brother to the philanthropist, who represented him said the gesture was in the sustenance of the Foundation’s annual philanthropic activities aimed at alleviating the suffering of the downtrodden.
According to him, for the past eight years, Chief Kenneth Ifekaudu has been engaged in humanitarian gestures to the poor and the downtrodden within Ozubulu and outside the state.
Chief Kenneth Ifekaudu has been putting smiles on the faces of both widows and aging people at the end of each year. It also engages in youth and women empowerment by giving out little tokens to beneficiaries to start up small-scale business enterprises, he stated.
He also advised Ozubulu indigenes not to forget the essence of the season, urging people to show love to one another and put smiles on as many faces as possible.
The event which saw over 12 thousand people gathered to witness the presentation of the bags of rice in a siren environment was a historic moment in Ozubulu.
Mr. Nnamdi called on governments and philanthropic organizations to make life more meaningful for the downtrodden, orphaned, widows, and aged members of the society.
The beneficiaries whose joy knew no band expressed their gratitude to the donor, saying that he has given them hope to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ like other families across the globe and prayed that God will continue to protect and provide for the donor.
