Lagos Food Bank Partners with Elevation Church to Combat Hunger During Love Week Outreach

As part of its annual Love Week celebration, The Elevation Church, in partnership with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative, carried out a deeply impactful outreach to support food-insecure households in underserved communities across Lagos.

Marking the first phase of a global campaign, the outreach embodied the shared mission of both organizations to serve vulnerable populations with love, compassion, and dignity. Held at the Lagos Food Bank warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja, the event brought together a dedicated team of volunteers from The Elevation Church, Lagos Food Bank staff, and community volunteers to distribute nutritious food and essential household supplies.

Love Week is celebrated annually across all Elevation Church campuses worldwide, with a focus on demonstrating God’s love through practical acts of service. In Lagos, this vision was brought to life through a strategic collaboration with Lagos Food Bank, a nonprofit known for its impactful work in fighting hunger and malnutrition.

Speaking during the outreach, a representative from The Elevation Church noted, “We are honored to partner with Lagos Food Bank in spreading love and hope—especially in a time where so many families are struggling with rising food prices and economic challenges. Beneficiaries received relief packages that included rice, garri, cooking oil, noodles, and hygiene essentials—carefully selected to meet immediate nutritional and household needs. Volunteers also engaged with the recipients, sharing words of encouragement and fostering a sense of community.

As both organizations continue to explore opportunities to scale the campaign, this first phase stands as a shining example of what is possible when faith-based institutions and nonprofit organizations come together to uplift and transform lives.
