As part of their CSR engagement, The Class of 97 of the Old Students Association of Lagos State Model College Kankon (LASMOCK), Badagry, have donated educational items to their Alma Mater with a view to enhance class room learning for students in the school.
According to a statement by the President of the group, Adepehin Martins, he said the donation was made recently to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the 1997 Set.
“What we have just done is a collective effort after much deliberations as to the best way to celebrate 25 years of leaving LASMOCK.
We therefore consider it a social responsibility to give back to the school that produced us. We chose to celebrate with the school staff and students and also give back in our own little way.” He noted.
Adepehin said some of the items, amongst others includes; 75 inch digital interactive boards that were given each to the junior and senior schools.
In his response to the gesture, the Principal of the Senior Model School, Mr Ibitoye said he’s highly elated by the gesture of the 1997 alumni set, he was excited that the donation makes them the first government school to use interactive boards in Lagos State, and hopes that the other sets would emulate them.
The Silver Jubilee activities culminated with a Dinner and Awards night held in Lagos and had in attendance members of the 97 Set as well as top management Staff of the school.
