The Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) has reopened its 2026 application portal, providing fresh graduates with renewed access to structured, paid work placements across Nigeria’s public and private sectors. The reopening comes after the programme had earlier announced the closure of applications, offering eligible candidates another opportunity to participate in the highly competitive initiative.
Under the 2026 cycle, successful applicants will be deployed to organisations across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory for a 12-month fellowship. Participants will receive a monthly stipend of ₦150,000, alongside practical exposure designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace demands. The programme also incorporates digital skills training to further enhance fellows’ employability in an increasingly technology driven economy.
The NJFP targets young Nigerians who have recently completed tertiary education and are seeking meaningful work experience. Applicants must be Nigerian citizens who graduated not earlier than 2022 and possess either a bachelor’s degree or a Higher National Diploma (HND). Bachelor’s degree holders are required to have a minimum of Second-Class Lower division, while HND holders must have an Upper Credit. In addition, applicants must be 30 years old or younger, unemployed at the time of application, and must have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or obtained a valid exemption.
Beyond academic qualifications, the programme places strong emphasis on professionalism, effective communication, time management, and a demonstrated commitment to chosen career paths. Applicants are also expected to show a willingness to contribute to Nigeria’s socio-economic development. As part of the application requirements, candidates must submit a notarized degree certificate along with their NYSC certificate or exemption letter.
The Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme is widely regarded as a strategic intervention aimed at tackling youth unemployment and strengthening the national talent pipeline. By connecting young graduates with organisations nationwide and equipping them with relevant skills, the initiative continues to play a critical role in building a more resilient and competitive workforce for Nigeria’s future.
In addition to providing income support, the NJFP serves as a platform for knowledge transfer and capacity building within participating organisations. Host institutions in both the public and private sectors benefit from the fresh perspectives, digital competence, and innovative thinking that fellows bring to their teams. This mutually beneficial model strengthens organisational productivity while allowing young professionals to gain hands on experience in real world projects aligned with national development priorities.
Since its inception, the programme has been positioned as a key corporate social responsibility driven intervention, leveraging partnerships between government, development partners, and the private sector to address graduate unemployment. By combining paid placements, skills development, and nationwide deployment, the NJFP reinforces inclusive growth, supports youth empowerment, and underscores a shared commitment to preparing Nigeria’s next generation of leaders for sustainable economic participation.
