Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to education and youth development, OPay, one of Nigeria’s leading financial technology platforms, has extended its ₦1.2 billion 10-Year Scholarship Initiative to students at the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA).
This strategic expansion underscores OPay’s ongoing efforts to eliminate financial barriers for academically gifted students across the country. By providing comprehensive scholarship support, the initiative enables beneficiaries to focus entirely on their academic goals without the burden of tuition fees.

At the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony, a beneficiary shared their heartfelt experience:
“I am grateful to OPay for this initiative because it has helped me stay focused. When I first gained admission into a higher institution, I couldn’t afford my tuition and had to drop out to work and raise funds. Even now, I face the same challenge. This scholarship is a lifeline, and I truly appreciate OPay for this incredible gesture.”
Dauda Gotring, Managing Director of OPay Nigeria, emphasized the company’s vision of fostering educational equity and nation-building.
“At OPay, we recognize the importance of education in nation-building. We are proud to support these students on their journey toward achieving greatness. This is part of our broader commitment to empowering Nigeria’s youth,” he stated.
With FUTMINNA now added to its list of partner institutions, the OPay Scholarship Initiative continues to scale, reaching deserving students across various Nigerian universities.
Through this far-reaching educational program, OPay solidifies its role not only as a financial services provider but also as a catalyst for social impact and inclusive growth in Nigeria.
