In a bold move to drive sustainable business transformation, PwC Nigeria has launched the PWC Sustainability Academy, a flagship program under the PwC Nigeria Business School. This initiative is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to navigate the evolving sustainability landscape, reinforcing the role of corporate leaders in shaping a more responsible, resilient, and inclusive economy.
Speaking on the launch, Femi Osinubi, Partner, Consulting and Risk Services Leader at PwC Nigeria, emphasized that sustainability is no longer optional—it is the foundation for long-term business success.
“Sustainability is more than just a buzzword; it’s a business imperative. With our Sustainability Academy, we are empowering business leaders to embed sustainability into their core strategies, ensuring they can drive both profitability and positive societal impact,” Osinubi stated.
He highlighted the pressing need for upskilling, as organizations face growing challenges in balancing short-term financial goals with long-term sustainability commitments, regulatory compliance, and shifting consumer expectations.

Adding her voice, Marilyn Obaisa-Osula, Partner and Head of ESG, Sustainability & Climate Change at PwC Nigeria, addressed the urgent need to redefine corporate sustainability.
“For too long, sustainability has been seen as a ‘good-to-have.’ But the reality is, companies that embed ESG principles into their operations are not only mitigating risks—they are creating new opportunities, unlocking growth, and building stronger brands,” she said.
She noted that businesses embracing ESG compliance proactively can drive cost efficiencies, improve market positioning, and foster long-term trust among stakeholders.
