RaeProject: Rebuilding Lives, Restoring Dignity
One initiative is reaching deep into Nigeria’s forgotten marginalized corners to rewrite stories of pain into narratives of strength, hope and transformation.
Yes indeed, our world moves too fast to notice the quiet suffering of the marginalized but RaeProject, a flagship social impact movement is touching lives and making them thrive again.
Founded by Rachael Nniga, a woman whose compassion has grown into a full-scale engine of restoration for those society has left behind, RaeProject was born out of a deeply personal conviction: that survivors of trauma, no matter how broken their past, deserve the right support to rebuild with dignity.
Launched in 2016 under the umbrella of RaeGroup International Ltd, the project was never just another charity. It was, from inception, a movement of restoration for single, divorced mothers who had survived abusive marriages; for skilled but economically stranded men and for pregnant women who needed more than prayers to deliver their babies safely, they needed access to nutrition, healthcare, and education.
Operating across Lagos, Cross River, and Rivers State, RaeProject is steadily expanding its footprint to underserved communities nationwide. Its approach is not haphazard or one-size-fits-all. Instead, the initiative is rooted in a suite of thoughtfully designed programs that meet people where they are, and take them where they need to go, healed, skilled, and whole again.
Its flagship programme, “Thrive Again,” offers more than therapy sessions. It offers a full-circle journey of mental health support, trauma-informed care, and emotional healing. The name is apt to thrive again is not just to survive hardship, but to rise from it with power and purpose. For the many survivors who’ve passed through this program, that journey has not only been personal but transformational for their families and communities.
Yet RaeProject’s impact is not gender-skewed. Its “Male Inclusion Pathways” initiative fills a long-neglected gap in the empowerment space, reaching out to skilled but under-supported men who often fall through the cracks of social welfare systems. In a culture where men are expected to always be strong, this program dares to acknowledge that some need help too and offers them the tools, training, and opportunities to rebuild their livelihoods with pride.
In maternal and child health, RaeProject is rewriting the script in communities where antenatal support is often absent. With hygiene education, nutritional intervention, and prenatal care workshops, the organization is stepping in to provide lifesaving support in ways that neither hospitals nor government outreach often reach.
Then there’s the skills and microenterprise training, the core of RaeProject’s economic inclusion model. This is where trauma recovery meets livelihood, where emotional healing meets opportunity. Survivors are trained, equipped, and supported to turn skills into micro-businesses. From this point forward, they’re no longer just recipients of aid, they become creators of income, dignity, and value.
But RaeProject’s work doesn’t stop at individual rehabilitation. The organization is also building safe spaces and group therapy hubs, creating the kind of communal healing models that are both rare and necessary in today’s fragmented society. Through consistent advocacy and outreach, the project is helping to mainstream the idea that true national development must include the emotional and economic healing of its most vulnerable populations.
It is all driven by one compelling vision: to build a healed, empowered, and economically active society where trauma survivors don’t just recover, they thrive and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s growth. In this sense, RaeProject isn’t just helping individuals. It is healing Nigeria, one person and one community at a time.
Behind this noble work is RaeGroup International Ltd, a multi-sectoral Nigerian company with interests in spa wellness, events, interiors, and social impact. Through RaeProject, the company translates its corporate vision into inclusive growth, restorative leadership, and tangible transformation at the grassroots.
What sets RaeProject apart is its refusal to see survivors as victims. It sees them as future entrepreneurs, caregivers, artisans, and community leaders and treats them as such. It is this dignity-first, healing-centered model that continues to attract attention and admiration across the country, even as the organization remains firmly grounded in the communities it serves.
As RaeProject looks to the future, its mission is clear: deepen its reach, expand its programs, and partner with stakeholders who believe in a Nigeria where no trauma has the last word. And as the world continues to wake up to the urgency of community-based social support, one hopes RaeProject will continue to serve as a lighthouse guiding others not just toward charity, but toward healing, empowerment, and sustainable change.
