RusselSmith, an ISO certified provider of asset integrity and advanced manufacturing solutions for critical industries across Africa, has secured pioneer status for additive (3D) manufacturing from the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission.
The company announced on Monday that the designation recognises its early and sustained investment in deploying industrial-scale additive manufacturing technologies in Nigeria.
Pioneer status is a Federal Government incentive administered by the NIPC to encourage investment in industries considered strategic to national economic development. The incentive is designed to support companies operating in qualifying pioneer sectors through fiscal reliefs that enable long term capital investment and growth.
RusselSmith said the recognition underscores its commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s industrial capacity through advanced 3D manufacturing, process innovation, and local skills development. According to the company, its additive manufacturing capabilities enable the on demand local production of spare parts and critical components, reducing equipment downtime across key industries and improving supply chain resilience by lowering reliance on imports.
Being granted pioneer status by the NIPC validates the strategic importance of the advanced manufacturing ecosystem we are building and reinforces our long-term commitment to developing resilient industrial capacity in Nigeria,” Adeleke said. “This incentive will support our continued investment in technology, talent development, and operational scale, while enhancing the value we deliver to our customers and partners.”
The NIPC is the Federal Government agency responsible for promoting, coordinating, and facilitating investments in Nigeria, as well as implementing policies and incentives aimed at improving the country’s investment climate for both local and foreign investors.
