Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, the Chairman of SIFAX Group and recently appointed Chancellor of Gerar University of Medical Sciences in Imope-Ijebu, Ogun State, has praised the university for the high-quality infrastructure on its campus.
As the institution’s inaugural chancellor, Afolabi expressed satisfaction that, as it prepares to admit its first group of students in the coming weeks, the university already boasts impressive facilities and equipment that will facilitate a seamless start to academic activities at its permanent location. Afolabi conveyed these sentiments during his initial visit to the university, where he was warmly received by the management team, led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Niran Adetoro.
The vice-chancellor informed Afolabi that the National Universities Commission (NUC) already approved all the nine take-off programmes of the university.
They are nursing science, optometry, medical laboratory science, physiology, physiotherapy, radiation and radiation science, anatomy, human nutrition and dietetics, and pharmacology.
Meanwhile, in fulfilment of his promise, Afolabi donated a brand-new bus to the university.
Presenting the bus, Olumuyiwa Akande, the Group Head of Corporate Communications, who represented Afolabi, said the bus was donated to aid the movement of staff, as academic activities will commence in a few weeks.
Adetoro, who received the bus, commended Afolabi for the kind gesture, promising that it would be put to good use.
