SISA 2025 Crowns Champions of ‘People, Planet, Purpose’ in a Night of Glitz and Impact
Under the glittering chandeliers of the prestigious Shell/Zenith Bank Hall at the Muson Centre, corporate Nigeria’s most impactful leaders gathered last night for the fifth annual Social Impact and Sustainability Awards (SISA).
The theme, “People, Planet, Purpose: The New CSR Imperative,” was brought to life as over a dozen organizations and distinguished public servants were honoured for their transformative contributions to Nigeria’s sustainable development.
Organised by CSR Reporters and founded by Sustainability thought leader Mr. Eche Munonye, the 2025 edition of Nigeria’s premier CSR and sustainability awards lived up to its billing, transitioning from a ceremonial event to a powerful testament of a nation’s commitment to a better future.
Indee, SISA 2025 was a celebration of measurable impact.
In his opening address, Convener Eche Munonye framed the evening’s significance: “Tonight, we are not just handing out trophies, we are validating a movement. We are recognising that the most resilient, admired, and successful entities in our country are those that have seamlessly woven the principles of social equity, environmental stewardship, and a higher purpose into their core operations. These winners are the blueprint for the future of Nigerian enterprise.”
The awards, judged by a rigourous panel of experts, placed a premium on tangible, measurable impact, a shift from philanthropic intention to documented outcome that resonated throughout the night.
The Winners’ Circle? A potpourri of Corporate Giants and Public Service Leaders.
The applause was thunderous as a diverse array of winners took to the stage, reflecting the broad spectrum of the sustainability ecosystem:
• In Telecommunications, MTN Nigeria solidified its leadership, taking home a major award for its wide-reaching digital inclusion and community support initiatives.
• The Energy and Infrastructure sector shone brightly, with Axxela Group recognized for sustainable gas infrastructure, TotalEnergies for its integrated energy transition projects, and IHS Towers for its commitments to green towers and community engagement.
• Industrial and Manufacturing powerhouses made a clean sweep. BUA Group was honoured for large-scale community development, while Nestlé Nigeria was celebrated for nutrition-focused agricultural sustainability. Seven Up Bottling Company and Rite Foods were applauded for environmental and wellness initiatives, respectively.
• Innovation in Sustainability was key, with mining firm Segilola Resources winning for responsible mining practices, and Teksight recognised for its tech-driven sustainability solutions.

The Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) was celebrated for its transformative philanthropic investments across the continent.
It was also a night of distinguished public service.
SISA 2025 notably bridged the gap between private sector achievement and public sector leadership, honouring key government figures who are driving the sustainability agenda from within:
• The Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Sustainability was recognised for embedding the ‘People, Planet, Purpose’ framework into the state’s master plan.
• The Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Special Duties was honoured for coordinating high-impact national initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
• In a powerful statement on governance and social cohesion, the Inspector General of Police was awarded for efforts in fostering community trust and safety as a bedrock for sustainable development.
• The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Health was celebrated for unwavering leadership in strengthening the public health system, a fundamental pillar of societal sustainability.
The Verdict: A Movement Solidified
As the last award was presented and the curtain fell on SISA 2025, the message was clear: Sustainability in Nigeria has moved from the margins to the mainstream. The winners list, a blend of blue-chip corporations, innovative mid-size firms, and dedicated public servants paints a vibrant picture of a nation collaboratively tackling its greatest challenges.
“This is just the beginning,” Munonye concluded in his closing remarks. “The stories celebrated here tonight will inspire a new wave of action. They prove that integrating ‘People, Planet, Purpose’ is the most strategic imperative for any organization that seeks to thrive in the 21st century.”
For the winners, the SISA 2025 trophy is more than an accolade, it has become a symbol of their role as architects of a more sustainable and equitable Nigeria.
