In a strategic move to enhance school management and improve learning outcomes, the Sokoto State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), under the leadership of Executive Chairman Alhaji Umar Nagwari Tambuwal, has successfully conducted a six-day leadership training workshop for more than 310 head teachers across the state.
Organized in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and Shehu Shagari College of Education, the training aimed to sharpen the leadership and administrative competencies of school heads in line with evolving educational best practices. The sessions were hosted at three different centers—Yakubu Mu’azu Science Model Primary School in Sokoto, Magaji Rufa’i Islamiyya Primary School in Shagari, and Achida Model Primary School in Wurno.

With 106 participants drawn from eight Local Government Education Authorities at the Wurno center alone, the initiative reflects the state’s inclusive approach to educational development. By strengthening the capacity of school leaders, the Governor Ahmad Aliyu-led administration continues to prioritize foundational education and long-term institutional excellence across Sokoto State.
