Manufacturing Industries in Plateau State have been charged to step up their Corporate Social Responsibility( CSR), to enhance development of the state.
Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang made the appeal when he received a delegation of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, (MAN), on a courtesy visit recently at the Old Government House, Rayfield, Jos.
He charged members of the association to play a critical role in bringing to fruition the present administration’s ambition of making the state compete favourably with its counterparts that have achieved a certain fete in industrialisation.
The governor also appealed to the team to partner the state government in improving the livelihood of residents by embarking on community projects.
He also commended members of the association for sustaining their businesses despite the security challenges which have affected their chain of supply of various raw materials among others and pledged the state government’s commitment towards providing the conducive environment for businesses to thrive.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation and Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Plateau State chapter, Alhaji Shehu Sule, called on the state government to prioritise industrialisation of the state and highlighted some areas that needed support by the manufacturers.
The delegation comprised heads and representatives of various industries situated in the state.
