In a significant boost to Nigeria’s burgeoning tech ecosystem, Wema Bank has launched the 2026 Hackaholics Accelerator Initiative, admitting 10 promising startups into the program. The selected startups, including Farmslate, Ploy, and Stocmed, will receive intensive training, strategic guidance, and access to networks to help them grow and make a lasting impact.
Among them is Farmslate, a young startup revolutionizing agriculture through tech. “We’re thrilled to be part of this initiative,” said Farmslate’s founder, Adaobi Okonkwo. “The mentorship and resources will help us scale our impact, improve yields, and feed more communities across Nigeria.”
Wema Bank has already disbursed over $400,000 to young innovators and startup founders through the Hackaholics initiative. “Empowering startups is empowering Nigeria’s future,” said Morufu Usman, Head, Digital Banking & Innovation, Wema Bank. “We’re committed to nurturing the next generation of tech leaders.”
The startups will showcase their innovations at the upcoming Hackaholics Demo Day, scheduled for later this month. With this initiative, Wema Bank continues to demonstrate its commitment to corporate social responsibility and driving innovation in Nigeria’s tech space.
