Transformation consultancy, Wavestone, has supported 13 charities through its annual ‘Powerday’ event. The event saw colleagues volunteer and make a different with a number of good causes throughout the community.
Founded in 1990, Wavestone is a management and digital consulting firm with over 4,000 consultants spread across four continents. In recent years, an ongoing campaign of acquisitions and organic growth helped power its revenues beyond the €400 million mark – with an aim of hitting aims to hit €750 million by 2025.
Wavestone has not only set itself ambitious targets when it comes to its own financial performance, though. The consultancy has also outlined an aim to become “one of the top 5% companies with respect to CSR”, according to a recent press release. To help it meet that lofty goal, it has undertaken an annual ‘Powerday’, helping charitable causes around its global operations.
Powerday is a global event which Wavestone now holds every year. The event represents a day for all Wavestone employees to volunteer and make a positive difference in local communities; working with them to understand their needs and how Wavestone employees can help.
Wavestone Consultant Nigna Anil said of the most recent event, “Participating in the gardening project at Richard House Children Hospice, London as a part of Wavestone Powerday event was an immensely rewarding team experience. Our team came together with enthusiasm and dedication, working harmoniously to clean and transform the hospice’s garden into a beautiful space accessible for the kids, their families, and the employees. We could see the positive impact of our efforts not only in the rejuvenated garden but also in the smiles on the faces of the hospice staff. It was a heart-warming experience that left us with a sense of fulfilment and a deeper connection as a team.”
In 2023, this saw more than 1,300 Wavestone employees from around the world participate in many different initiatives. The UK team worked with 13 charities including Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, Thames Valley Air Ambulance and National Trust.
Speaking on the support, Valene Lockhart, senior corporate partnerships manager at Richard House Children’s Hospice, commented, “We would like to thank Wavestone for supporting our cause, volunteers who helped with gardening helps children and families to have fun outdoors. With volunteers who helped with marketing it was helpful to create an action plan on how we could approach communications.”
