TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc and the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) have launched a sustainability-driven initiative aimed at fostering environmental consciousness and climate action among communities and young individuals.
The programme kicked off at Kuramo Junior and Senior Secondary Schools in Victoria Island, Lagos, reinforcing the importance of environmental conservation and the transition to a circular economy. The initiative integrates employee volunteering, climate education, and hands-on activities to instill a culture of sustainability in future generations.
A key component of the initiative is the donation of recycling bins to schools and the introduction of clean-up challenges across 10 schools. These activities are designed to emphasize the importance of recycling and its role in mitigating environmental degradation.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Samba Seye, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
“As a responsible corporate entity, TotalEnergies encourages our communities to maintain environmentally sustainable practices and contribute to a cleaner world. By participating in these activities, we are fostering a spirit of environmental consciousness and responsibility.”
NCF’s Head of Environment Education, Mrs. Adedamola Ogutuga, highlighted the foundation’s mission to integrate sustainability, education, and conservation.
“Partnering with TotalEnergies for this green initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to fostering a greener economy and responsible consumption. Through this initiative, we are empowering young minds with the knowledge and tools needed to protect the environment, reinforcing our shared vision for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Nigeria.”
This collaboration between TotalEnergies and NCF underscores the role of corporate responsibility in driving climate awareness and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
