In the spirit of Valentine’s day, Cornerstone Insurance Plc Foundation, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Cornerstone Insurance Plc, has joined forces with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) to distribute food to students in underserved schools across Lagos State.
This initiative underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to social impact, ensuring that vulnerable children receive essential nutritional support.
Beneficiary schools in Agege, including Divine Wisdom, Idera Oluwa, and Debby and Frank, received food supplies as part of the initiative. The program aims to enhance students’ well-being, reduce hunger, and foster an inclusive society where no child is left behind.
Speaking at the LFBI headquarters in Ikeja, Charles Nwachukwu, General Manager of Cornerstone Insurance Plc, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to improving the welfare of disadvantaged communities.
“We are honored to be part of this initiative, ensuring that less privileged children feel loved this Valentine’s season. There’s no better time to give back than now,” Nwachukwu stated.
He further emphasized the company’s vision of integrating social responsibility with insurance, introducing the campaign slogan: “Show Love with Insurance.”

Cordelia Ekeocha, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Cornerstone Insurance Plc, highlighted the foundation’s longstanding commitment to philanthropy.
“Since 2013, we have actively collaborated with NGOs and institutions to create meaningful impact in our communities. Our foundation’s logo represents a caring hand, which symbolizes our dedication to giving back,” Ekeocha explained.
Dr. Michael Sunbola, Executive Director of LFBI, lauded Cornerstone Insurance Foundation’s continued support, emphasizing the importance of strategic partnerships in addressing food insecurity.
“Through initiatives like the EduFood Program, Lagos Food Bank remains steadfast in its mission to combat hunger, reduce food waste, and tackle malnutrition, especially among pregnant women and young children in underserved communities,” Sunbola stated.
Cornerstone Insurance Plc Foundation remains focused on key areas such as health, women empowerment, and education. It strives to uplift communities through sustainable CSR initiatives.
The Education Enhancement Intervention for Food Insecure Students (EDUFOOD), a flagship program of LFBI, is designed to improve the nutritional status and overall health of students in low-cost primary and secondary schools across Lagos State.
Through collaborative efforts, Cornerstone Insurance Foundation and LFBI continue to make significant strides in fostering a more inclusive, healthier society, proving that love and corporate social responsibility go hand in hand.
