Foundation gifts cash to indigent Muslims in Oyo

The Muslim Congress (TMC) in Oyo State has extended financial assistance to indigent Muslims across the state as part of its commitment to supporting the underprivileged.

The distribution occurred recently in a bid to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr fasting marking the end of Ramadan 1446 A.H.

The initiative aimed to bring joy to Muslim families, ensuring they could celebrate the festival with ease and happiness.

The support was provided under the Feed the Needy program, a flagship initiative of TMC, Oyo State, focused on addressing the needs of the underprivileged.

During a media interaction, the Wali Coordinator of TMC in the state, Alhaji Daud Oladosu, spoke about the current economic challenges in Nigeria.

He stated that, in light of the hardship faced by many, the organization views it as a fundamental duty to alleviate the struggles of Muslims within the state.

Ustadh Idris Muhammad, chairman of the Feed the Needy program, expressed gratitude to all donors who financially supported the initiative.

He emphasized that transparency remains a core principle of the program, assuring contributors that the funds were distributed fairly.

“As promised to our donors, we ensured that every contribution reached those in need transparently. The minimum amount disbursed to each identified beneficiary, based on account details received from our local government representatives, was N10,000,” he stated.

Idris further revealed that the initiative benefited 20 indigent Muslims across the state.

In addition to those who received monetary aid, some beneficiaries were provided with food relief packages to ease their burden during Ramadan.

He called on financially capable individuals and organizations to support the program, emphasizing that with more contributions, the initiative could reach an even larger number of people in need.

“We assure all potential donors that the process remains transparent and accountable,” he added.

The Feed the Needy program is one of TMC Oyo State’s many humanitarian initiatives aimed at fostering community support and ensuring that the underprivileged are not overlooked during significant religious celebrations.
